Playground FAQ
Straight answers about vinyl, safety, surfacing, space, installation and more.
Call us today833-353-PLAYWhy choose vinyl over wood or metal playgrounds?
Vinyl is splinter-free, weather-resistant and virtually maintenance-free. It does not need sanding, sealing or painting, which makes it a durable choice for families, schools and communities.
Can you customize playgrounds for my space or theme?
Absolutely. We offer fully customizable designs, colors and accessories to match your vision and site requirements. Start with the free Playset Designer.
Are your playgrounds ADA accessible?
We design inclusive play environments with accessible ramps, adaptive swings and sensory panels. Accessibility requirements depend on your site, so we plan the details with you.
What safety standards do you follow?
Home playsets are commonly designed around ASTM F1148 and the CPSC’s home playground guidance, and public playgrounds around ASTM F1487 and the CPSC Public Playground Safety Handbook. Ask us for documentation on the model you choose.
Do you provide installation and maintenance?
Yes. We offer nationwide installation and ongoing maintenance and inspection services to keep your playground safe and beautiful.
What is the warranty on your equipment?
Warranty terms depend on the model and components. Ask us for the warranty details for the playset you choose before you buy.
Can you help with site planning and permits?
Our team helps with site planning and 3D renderings, and can guide you through the permitting process as needed.
Do you serve my city?
We serve customers nationwide, with dedicated pages for 75 cities. If yours is not listed, call 833-353-PLAY and we will help.
How much space do I need?
Plan for at least 6 feet of clear space around the equipment, and a distance equal to twice the height of the top bar in front of and behind swings. The free Yard Fit tool shows it to scale.
What age is a backyard playset good for?
Playsets are made for a wide range of ages, from toddler sets with low decks to climbers for tweens. Our Age & Play Match tool helps you choose.
How deep should the mulch be?
The CPSC advises at least 9 inches of compressed loose-fill surfacing for equipment up to 8 feet high. An initial fill of 12 inches settles to about 9. Our Surfacing Calculator does the math.
Do I need surfacing under a playset?
Equipment with an elevated play surface needs protective surfacing. The CPSC says equipment with no elevated surface, like a sandbox or activity wall, does not.
How often should I inspect the playset?
The CPSC suggests checking nuts and bolts twice a month and swing seats, ropes and chains monthly. Try our Safety Checklist.
Can I add to my playset later?
Often yes. Many families start with a core structure and add features later. Ask about the model you choose.
Do you work with schools and churches?
Yes. We design commercial playgrounds for schools, churches, parks, HOAs, daycares and developers.
